Friday October 23rd – Our Clubhouse turns 100!
Centenary Celebration of the Clubhouse –A special Commodores’ Drinks on the Rooftop starting at 18.00 with everyone welcome to join in enjoying a celebration glass of bubbly and watch the sunset!

Friday October 30th to Sunday November 1st Classics Cup Regatta
Classics Regatta – RMYS will host the 20th Edition of the Classics Yacht Association of Australia’s annual Cup Regatta over this weekend with classic yachts from clubs from all around the bay participating.

Thursday 6th November Special Oaks Day Lunch 1200
Theme for this special Oaks Day will be ‘The Golden Age’. The Melbourne Cup actually dates back to 1861 -so be prepared to dress up and come and join us for a fun lunch!

Saturday November 7th Celebratory 5 Club Pursuit Race
Our 150th Celebratory 5-Club Pursuit Race – Starting and finishing at RMYS, boats will sail around buoys off RBYC, SYC, RYCV, and HBYC (in order or reverse, depending on wind). All crews will be invited to join us following the race for presentations and live music back at the Squadron. A Predicted Log Race for power boats is also planned.

Sunday November 8th Joe White Foundation Exhibition Race
A Special Exhibition Race at 1400 –featuring Acrospire II, III, IV, and the Tumlarens, visible from the pier for public enjoyment. The ‘Acrospires’ were all at one time owned by Joe White, our longest serving Commodore and thanks to the Foundation he established,

Acrospire II has been restored by Albert Park Yacht Club.
Acrospire III (little Ack) launched in 1924 is a 50ft pole-mast gaff cutter, now owned by Col Andersen and moored at St Kilda,
Acrospire IV (Big Ack), launched in 1929 is a 54 ft gaff rigged cutter.
Together with the Tumlarens, this exhibition will be a wonderful spectacle and is not be missed.

Friday November 13th Trivia Night 1830 for 1900
150-year Trivia Night – The actual 150 years anniversary will be marked by a fun night of trivia celebrating the history of the club. Time to ensure you are versed in the Squadron’s history, assemble
your team and join us in the Harbour Room for a lighthearted evening of sailing trivia, accompanied by a bowl of paella. Tickets will be $30 for members and their guests.

Sunday November 15th Group Photo, Sail Past and Marina Party from 1100
The day’s activities start out the front of the club at 1100, with a group photo of as members as possible to mark our anniversary (This was last done for our 125 years anniversary.)
At 1400 all members are invited to join in our special Sail Past. Boats will be encouraged to dress up in line with the theme “Sailing in 1876” and there will be a prize for the best dressed boat. The Margaret Pearl with be the official vessel for the sail past and there will be a water display but the Svitzer Tugboats.
This will be followed by a Marina Party – The band “The Last Port” and members and their guests are invited to come along and party on the marina. This will be a free event with boats self-catering and catering packages available for purchase.

Wednesday November 18th Special Anniversary Twilight Race 1800
Special Anniversary Twilight Race with a special 1876 themed menu available back in the Harbour Room after the race. Malcolm Page, Australian Sailing CEO and double gold medallist in Men’s 470, has kindly agreed to join us and give us a short talk.

Sunday November 22nd Community Engagement and Discover Sailing Day from 1000
We will be opening up to our local community and inviting them to come and have tours around the club at the same time as we will be running a Discover Sailing Day
A 7 piece Naval Jazz Ensemble will entertain us all in the yard from 1300.
A day of engaging with the community, showcasing both the history of the club and introducing those interested to the joys of sailing.

Saturday November 28th Gala Harbour Room from 1900
A black tie event for our members and their guests with great food, wine, music and great company to bring our month of celebrations to a close.
A crooner will welcome attendees and canapes will be served in the Olympic Room before moving to the Harbour Room. Our MC will be Dee Mason, of AWKR fame and we will have further entertainment from The Yachtski Brothers. The event is likely to be sold out, since we are limited to 250.
The club will only be only open to Gala attendees for the evening.
