01 Beginner Sailing Program

A self-contained 12-hour introduction to sailing, in six 2-hour sessions, weekday mornings or afternoons. More than 300 students take part in this program at RMYS each year, with every session led by an Australian Sailing–certified instructor around a specific sailing topic. Each student takes home a booklet, so families can follow their progress.

02 Sail LabA

New initiative that brings the sport of sailing into the classroom through a teacher-built STEM program linked to the Australian Curriculum. At the end of the course, students apply what they’ve learned during a real sailing session.

03 School Team Sailing & Racing Championship

RMYS is the headquarters for the School Team Sailing Championship, and runs training that prepares school teams to compete in Victoria’s schools championship.

04 School Sailing Club

RMYS establishes and manages an off-campus sailing club for your school, with training and racing throughout the year. If you’d like your school to have its own sailing club but don’t have the capacity to run it, RMYS does it for you — your students learn and progress toward racing, week after week.

05 Joe White Foundation Program

In partnership with the Joe White Foundation, RMYS offers 12 hours of free sailing training for eligible students from Year 5 up. If cost is a barrier to running a sailing program at your school, we may be able to help — just let us know you’re interested and we’ll talk through the options.
